This project investigated anecdotal reports of over-forecasting for new products. The purpose was to test whether this over-forecasting is due to the time taken for retail distribution and consumer trial to become established (the ‘rise time’). The intent was to recommend corrected forecasting methods, if applicable. The project relied on data supplied from Simplot stage gate reports.
These results and recommendations of this report may assist Simplot to further develop and improve their distribution forecast for new products. |
