About the Project

This project will assist operators in the South Australian Sardien fishery to increase the value of their catch by trialling technology that will improve the post-harvest quality of whole and processed Sardines (fresh and frozen). Such improvements will assist in the production of high quality fish for valuable domestic and export human consumption markets.

Project Objectives

1. Assess the utility of flow-ice in preserving the freshness of Australian Sardines from the point of harvest to processing, and wholesale and retail supply chains.
